How can I tell if......

Can someone tell me how I would tell if my current amplifier is capable of driving my speakers?
What are the rules?
I've read recently that a 180 or 250 is necessary to drive Keilidhs. I was also told by a dealer that I would need to trade up to a 102/180 to drive my Kan 1's.
Trouble is, the music sounds good to me; preferable on the Kans to the Keilidhs, but is my Nait 5 up to the job? Am i missing something?
Can someone enlighten me?

Hi Kevin,

Your Nait-5 should be fine, unless your room is huge or you like to play at earbleedin' levels.

I use Kan-1's at the end of my Nait-2, and don't have a problem with it. I don't (like to) play really loud, but within it's limits and in small to medium sized room it sound fine to me!

Surely, a NAP250 would be better, but it has its price...
I also tried a 72/140 on my Kan's but I didn't got the feeling that it had more welly/control in the bass, only the mids were slightly more open and detailed. (not worth the extra cash though, imho)

Hi Kevin

If you enjoy the sound your getting then it's OK. I'm running a 92/flatcap/90.3 driving original Saras and am thoroughly enjoying the sounds it makes at moderate levels but that may just be the room, the position of the speakers and the seated position. Obviously a better amp will improve certain areas of performance but there not bad. Use your own ears to decide and don't be influenced by others views.
