Apple get real with iTunes at last.

Why did they wait so long?

I wonder if they'll start to do sensible things like have proper Bluetooth on the iPhone now?

One could perhaps argue that the removal of copy protection reduces the likelihood of higher-quality downloads being offered by iTunes in the future.

The biggest audiophile issue (on PC's) is still its lack of ASIO support.

Confused - this is very old news but it's being shown as something new. Apple started doing this early last year, with two price bands - the strandard 99c 128kbps MP3 tracks being DRM bound and with their higher quality 256k tracks being DRM free. So what's new?

If I understand it correctly, all songs will be converted to iTunes Plus but within that there will be a three tier price. The "single" track(s) from an album will be priced higher and the fillers lower.

That was for songs from EMI and independents only. Now all the major labels are on board, making the entire library DRM free (eventually).
