ID Cards:

Posted by: Berlin Fritz on 26 August 2006

When Germany introduced its new Passports & ID Cards (Which one can travel throughout Europe with by Air, Rail and Sea unhindered, except in the UK) earlier this year (at a fifth of the price quoted by er, British Ministers and their eventual Mickey Mouse version of an effort) I thought to mesen, You know what Fritz! I bet Cameron uses this as an election issue.

Fritz von Personally I think he's making a mistake.

This is a good example of the old bollocks that I'm always moaning about on here. Although having spoken to my Mother twice on the phone over the last few weeks I couldn't mention actually receiving her card , she actually sent this card to me (17 DAYS AGO) which has literally just arrived minutes afore and which has obviously been improved by the Royal Mail's Art & Decor dept (1984 comes to mind ). It was sent with a first class stamp (as per always), I send a letter here to say Münich, it's there tomorrow (€0.55), anywhere in Europe (letter €0.70) there tomorrow or next day (except UK). My Private Eye is 8 days late and I'm on holiday and to be honest it pisses me off somewhat, I mean how the hell can I post nearly intelligent 'moans' without ripping Lord Gnome orf I ask you in all honesty?

Fritz von I suppose I'll have to use my imagination then, innit*

Dear Fritz,

I have always thought that ID cards are a splendid idea, but I am not sure that the card as proposed in UK is right at all. Just like centralising the patient records in the NHS, it seems likely to slip and slide into the usual chaos of Government IT/computer projects!.

As for it being an election issue. I often think elections are lost by the government of the day, rather than actually won by the opposition of the day. All that Cameron has to do is avoid making a mistake this time, I would think.

In a way I doubt he would be in power more than one term, unless he proves more adept than he seems so far. That is just my view. I hope I am wrong, but the idea of another term of this incredible lot is not something that makes me happy.

Al the best from Fredrik

David! Sorry I mean Our Fredders, I personally like what Cameron's about but he's not PM material (Yet) I feel. Blair must go, but Old New Labour (although I'm a Lib-Dem man at heart I'm realistic at present believe it or not) must remain and tackle serious (BLATANTLY OBVIOUS ISSUES) like getting the Economy seriously on target together with Old Sir Tubby Digby thingy of the thingy who's a good straight man I feel (so far, someone's got to be straight afterall or the comedians would have no contrast left (never mind brightness) innit) ie, be honest about Britain's REAL DEBT & PFI (never mind private individuals over the top top private debts allowed by unscrupulous TESCOS & Banks etc (ever heard Cameron mention it? NO! And Why ? cos they're all bleedin rakin it in at the taxpayers expense down Cornwall way that's bloody well why, while squaddies are fighting for Her Majesty (sometimes I feel she really does have a moral role to play, and I'm no natural born Royalist believe me Dave) though I strongly favour their present 'neutral' Status as highly beneficial for the UK & the Commonwealth, as well as the world view as a HOLE; innit (as Our Kofi would say)

Being the health conscious moron that i Is, I personally limit myself to some 10 eggs a month (usually less) in their various delicious guises because of the cholestorol factor.

Quite simple really, innit!

Fritz von And dinnee forget yer haselnuts either cos they're proven preventors of Alzheimers disease (no cure! prevention as with most blatanly obvious things when educated about them is the order of the day without pushing out the envelope too far) which I'm sure Our Skipton Bruce would agree with too if he were ever to give medical adwice on an internet forum?

Had a beer or twelve with a neuro-surgeon last night who was basically crying on my shoulder cos his gel left him etc, etc, (they're only human you know) (Honnist) , you couldn't make it up could yer:

Our Erik, although I'm not exactly in the best condition at present to preach moral argument on here due to last nights activities, breakfast, wasps, and the very likely fact that I'll be orf to the auld bauzer again very shortly again (all on tab boss is in Turkey on holiday) to get seriously pissed and finally come down from 6 months of what to be honest has been a mind-blowingly mindblowing highly underpaid period of my life as a taxpayer here in €urope (I don't complain rather just report). My Chief Rabbi once said to me, *My Boy! Be Yourself No matter what they say" good advice I feel, innit.

I think it's marvellous how on the old Most famous Christian thread the Jews are winning the argument of arguing for arguments sake (nothing new there then) I argue longer than you, therefore I'm right and you're wrong and now it's an histerical fact so can't be er, argued against*

Fritz von Just think, one day the Israeli government argument will be laughed at by all, including 90%+ of all right minded Jews around the World too, innit*

I was thinking earlier when Our Adam mentioned the shit zoo repetition factor that it surely must be time for yet another advanced driving thread so that everybody who's done such a course can boast about it again in the guise of being seemingly interested about a bloke with a sports car (barring Our Andy naturally).

Fritz von Watched some old black & White Edgar Wallace stuff earlier, reminded me of when I got held up by two black guys once on the Isle of Dogs and had to hand over my wagon full of mail order goods or get a serious hidin (I don't know if they were Jewish or not though?) took me ages to find a phone box that worked to ring the Law, then they wanted to nick me for setting it up (nothing changes there then) and that was in the summer of 79.

I assume nothing. My accusation is factual. Erik has attributed to me opinions that I have not expressed and do not hold. Some of these opinions are odious and contrary to my values. Erik's attribution to me of these opinions is defamatory.

My accusation against Erik is a serious one, and if you really think it is unjustified then I suggest you make a formal complaint to Naim.

If, on investigation, Naim has the slightest doubt that what I have said about Erik is justified then Naim is welcome to contact me to discuss the matter.
