Most bloated website ever?

I'd like to nominate The Official Formula One Website as possibly the largest, bloated, slowest to load websites on the WAN. I have had connection speeds up to 4500 kbps and that page still takes donkeys to load. I was on the helpline with my ISP a while ago with a connection problem and we loaded that page as a test - even the helpdesk guy was surprised.

I bet it cost a load of money though. Probably a company owned by B.E. just to get him a bit more dosh.

Seems a case of opposites here.

A very slow website dedicated to fast cars.

You would have thought they would produce a website as slick and quick as the cars.

p.s. Just been to the website and it doesn't strike me as slow using 2007; however I am using broadband and it could be slow on dial up.

Just went in and had a look. No problems at all on my 2.4Mb (alleged) adsl. There's a lot of data in those pages but none took more that 6 or 7 seconds to load. May be that they had some configuration issues that have since been resolved.

Regards,

Willy.

Max 4 seconds to load any page.

The home page came up almost immediately - perhaps it changes depending on time of day and the usage profile.

No problem loading the F1 site.

However, if you want to see an over done website, there is none more nauseating than this:

www.cnn.com
