Audition is booked (Finally)

Posted by: Ancient Mariner on 03 December 2003

After months of saving up and postings on this forum asking advice, I finally called in at my local dealers on Tuesday, and booked an audition for next wednesday. Smile

I am going to listen to a CD5, and maybe a CD5i, and also some speakers. The Speakers my dealer recomended are PMC DB1, Spendor S3E, and I think the other ones were Royd RR2. I will be driving them with my 92/FlatCap/90.3

Does anyone here run any of the above speakers with their Naim amps ?

I am sure I will here a a massive improvment with a CD5 and any of the above speakers over my Micromega Stage 1 and my old Linn Helix/Kustone speakers. Big Grin

Gee my first naim equipment was a 92/90.3 good stuff. I also bought Spendor Speakers, but different ones, the 2/3s. Nice speakers with plenty of bass. I was worried when I bought my stuff that it would all be too clear and irritating to listen to long term (like the Roksan Caspain I compared it to) but the Spendors are supposed to take some of that edge off. Nice detail and warm sounding. I don't know about the others you mention. The CD5 is wonderful.

It'll be interesting to hear what you think and what the comparison of the CD% and 5i are like.
Enjoy
