New Naim front panel finishes?

Posted by: Niko on 21 March 2003

Hi.

I haven't had the opportunity to see (or indeed hear!) the new Naim ranges yet. I know that the height is different for the 5-series from the classic-series (282, 250, etc..) . However, from the brochures, it also seems that the 5-series front panel finish might be little different? Can anybody confirm this? Indeed some photos side by side would be great!

Anyone got any news about a new Naim tuner (classic-series)?

Cheers,
Niko

There is a different finsih to the box sides however. The better stuff has brushed I think, and the other has smooth.

Although it might be the other way round.

The reference series is brushed on the front panel on left and right hand side (not the curved central piece. It's a detail thing - a quick glance in average lighting between 5 series and reference they look the same, just the reference is taller. Closer examination one can see some extra detail work in the reference series.
