My CDS2 is traveling.

I’ve got to send my CDS2 & XPS back to the UK for repairs. Does anyone know the best way to ship them from Vancouver Canada? I want to send them with least risk of damage and cost to a minimum.

If you know the boxed weight for each that would also be very helpful.

Thanks,

Mark.

CDS2 8.5kg
XPS 12.7kg

Secure CDS2 transport with the 4 transit pins. Use original box and packaging, make sure in good condition. Naim ship them all over the world like that. But there will always be casualties, so don't forget insurance.

Don't forget the clip for the Perspex lid to hold it down. You don't want it flopping about during shipping.

Hey Mark,

Why don't you send them to Dimexs the Canadian distributor in Montreal. They will be able to do the repairs for you.

Confession: Please don't make the mistake I did.

As mentioned above there are FOUR transit screws. When my CDS2 was shipped for repair, I had remembered the two bottom screws but forgot the two that secure the top. You don't want to experience the rest of the story... Tom.

PS. I also learned it's best to double box with buffering material surrounding the inner box.

Thanks for the info guys.

Thanks Edwin, I bought it before I moved here and it's a warranty issue. Therefore, it's got to go back there.

What about a shipper? Is "Fed ex" any good?

Probably not much between paying for repair at Dimexs or paying for return trip to UK, depending on what's needing done. But if you really want to send it across the ocean and back again ...
