streamer for SN DAC

I just got myself a SN. I am thinking to get a SB touch or a IPod via Wadia transport.....which one will sound better.

Any other suggestion?
Thanks

I can recommend Sonos. See if you can demo the various options. With this kind of set-up you want to ensure that the user interface is going to be liveable long term as well as obviously getting the sound quality right.

I'll second the Sonos, nice option with a NAS & the various music services.

Why not the SB Touch so you can make use of the hir res DAC in the SN when you have some files.

SB touch paired with a Controller (remote) provides a valuable solution...very good SQ (+ hires) and nice user interface for a decent price!

I also support the Touch advices above. If paired with an iPhone or iPod Touch and the iPeng App then it beats the Sonos both in sound quality and control.

Another vote for iPeng running on an iPod anything - excellent. Someone should kidnap the guy that wrote iPeng and get him to write other stuff ..

I note from the Sonos web page that their system is compatible with Spotify. Does anyone know if that's true with the Squeezebox Touch? I too would like to plug one of these devices into my SNAIT, but Spotify would be an added bonus.

Yes, you just have to add a Spotify plugin on the squeezeserver and it works fine. It adds a spotifu option in your Radio menu on the players.

+1 for the SB Touch route! It has a superior digital out but a replacement PSU will bring the Touch to a whole new level!

+1 again. I can only agree 100%

I recently replaced the supplied wall-wart psu with a decent, heavy PSU specially designed as an upgrade for the SB Touch, and the difference is quite impressive.

I do have my doubts whether the SN's internal dac will be much of an improvement over the Touch' internal dac, but considering the modest price of the SB Touch I think you can't go wrong. Smile

Well, Alex already has a SN, so likely he will use the SNdac...
In this case, I don't think a SB touch needs a heavy PSU, since he will not use the analog section.

No experience of the Squeezebox but I have found the Sonos to be excellent. The interface, stability and ease of use are superb. Needs a decent mains cable and coax to the Supernait though and only gives of it's best with WAV files.

I was looking to do the same thing, but was looking for a simple cheap alternative while i began to digest all the digital info out there..i went with an appletv..digital out into the SN DAC, streaming lossless files using itunes. Setup took 5 minutes, and the sound is VERY good. I am flooored...and itunes looks very nice on my flat screen too..
