Tom Evans New Groove Plus!!!

Posted by: RICHYH on 13 June 2003

After only recently stating that it is no more upgrades, what happens- Tom Evans goes and makes an upgraded Groove called the Groove Plus, at a snip of £3500 and its meant to sound unbelievable. The Groove I have has been in place for about 18 months and sounds magical so keep the wife talking while I ring Audio Excellence.

I believe that there are slight modifications to the Groove itself, but the major change is the new external power supply that Tom has designed called the Pulse. The Pulse can be used with either the Groove+ or the Vibe preamp.

Frank.

Hi David, I've got a feeling The Vibe price has been mixed up with the groove price. I have paid Audio Excelence and have had the upgrade done, the new retail is definatley £3500 for the groove plus including the pulse and the upgrade £2000.
Its just settling/running and already the benifits are apparent. Its making the 552 even better and its only been on 24 hrs. Can't wait for it to really open up.

Hi again David, on further investigation it appears that the price of £2800 is the price to the US converted back to pounds( after looking at www.besthifiintheworld.com ,at a guess anyway). The UK upgrade price is definatley £2000 or £3500 new complete.
If anyone is interested in what I think please let me know before I bleat on about it.

RICH,

I am intetested tell me how it goes!

I am been pondering where I can deploy the next upgrade, and was thinking speakers, but a better The Groove would be great for me.

Hi again David,
After a week in use just coming back to say how good the groove+ is. "SUPERB". Everything the groove had and more. It has more weight/dynamics,better timing and the layers of music are quite exraordinary, I have never heard as system as good as mine now sounds. The Groove+ is expensive but it makes the music beautiful.
