Naim System Cold

Things have been going great with my Naim. So last night while moving my kit to a new stand I started getting static through my speakers. I quickly narrowed it down to the Grey Snaic end going into my 140 and had to power down.
Is the ground sheath supposed to be connected on each end of the Snaic? I removed the rubber gromet and noticed that the ground is not connected. It my have been repaired once before. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You may need to look closer 
Providing there's continuity between the middle pin of both din's it's connected, it's just Naim do it more subtly, to make wiring more practical.
