How about solo j*** piano?

We have our usual end of winter snow and cold here and one of the best antidotes is music and Glengoyne 17. Although I have quite a bit of jazz of different styles, I'd like your help finding those solo piano cds that give a warm, sultry and smokey feel (since warm is a long time away, sultry is just not on, and smokey is now very politically incorrect). One of the last ones I bought which comes close is Thibaudet's "Reflections on Duke". All suggestions heeded, but no Jarrett please. Although I like old standards, I'm willing to try what you suggest.

Why no Jarrett?

by Keith Jarrett (ECM, 1999) is my favourite of his, in the genre I am looking for. If you know more by him, I'd be happy to try 'em.

I just heard this for the first time (and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th...) over the holidays, and thought it was worth resurrecting an old thread to re-recommend this amazing cd. It's Keith Jarrett at his most thoughtful, most lyrical, and least vocally annoying.
Maybe the engineers have finally figured out how to mike a piano so as to avoid picking up Keith's impromptu muttering and squealing. Only track 2 had distracting amounts of Jarrettation.
This disc contains my favorite version of one of my favorite tunes: his version of "I Loves You, Porgy" alone is worth the cost of the cd.

I'll second (or third) 'The Melody at Night with you' I loves you porgy is pure magic. Also try the Keith Jarrett's the Kohn Concert, this is the masterpiece of improvisation that a lot of people rave about, I bought it and wasn't disappointed!

Jarrett is the engineer ... recorded it at home.
But in general his more introspective work is relatively devoid of vocalization, as is this beautiful album of mostly ballads.
