Hard vs Soft feet

I have the 5 series 112/150 plus a HiCap and a stageline. All of these are "soft footed" and sit where I put them on my rack which has plate glass shelves ( it's from a company over here in the netherlands and is called "Alden" so probably not well known)
I have just accquired a CDX2 which has rock hard feet and of course skates around all over the place on the glass shelf. It moves whenever I change disks unless I am really gentle with it.

I assume the hard feet are there because Naim feels they offer the best potential for the CD player to give it's best performance.
I have also seen comments here in the past about how sensitive to "racking" the Naim CD players are.

So is this Hard feet on glass a good thing for the sound or not (based on the "Fraim" I guess it is)?
I see a current discussion about fitting "soft" sorbothane like feet on amps and power supplies etc. Does this apply the the likes of the CX2 aswell?

To stop it skidding use a tiny patch of double sided sticky tape on the foot. No sound loss I can detect unlike soft feet.

Use small pieces of blue tak next to the feet where they can't be seen. Not under them. That should do it.

BTW in my view, sorbothane is a killer of music with Naim gear. I have used Aluminium cones under the pre-amp with good results but, no good under the CD player.
