New Spiritualized al***

Has anyone got it or heard it?Is it worth purchasing-I love the two previous albums but have foolishly read too many bad reviews of the new album and convinced myself that it should be approached with caution. Is it as bad as I've read?(And yes,I know reviews are a subjective thing and I should make my own mind up...but I'd hate to splash out and find it's bad)

I'm in the same boat! It really has been slagged off big time in the press. Its been slagged for things that would really wind me up too, the impression is that they have vanished up their own butt and lost what conviction remained. I need to hear it before buying... but if I do buy it I want to get the limited edition cover... dilemas.

I don't think it's as good as ladies and gentlemen... (BTW anyone got that with each track on a single CD?) no real standout tracks but pretty consistent. I thought the reviews were a bit harsh, probably expecting something as good as the last one.
If you like L&G, try digging out some Spacemen 3 stuff, which predates Spiritualized but is in the same vein.

Enjoy

and you know what,it certainly doesn't deserve the extreme reviews being leveled at it.I can understand some of the criticisms-overuse of orchestra, and the occasionally whingeing vocals but it deserves better reviews than it's getting.Perhaps it's just Spiritualised backlash time.It reminds me of Ashcrofts solo release after the final Verve album-not as ground breaking, rather more commercial in sound but certainly listenable. And I'm finding that it's a grower, like the Ashcroft album.
(But Si is right-it ain't no Spaceman 3 ) razz
