110 or 140

Am selling my power amp - it was a 110 (as it states on the back) but about 5 years ago I had it upgraded to a 140. Question is can I sell it as a 140 with an explanation or a 110?

A converted 110 is not quite a true 140. IIRC, the transformer (and possibly the rest of the power supply) hasn't been changed. I believe only the amplification ciruit is upgraded.

The Nap140 uses a pair of smoothing caps for each channel, the Nap 110 uses a pair for both.
The amp boards are the same in both amps,as is the transformer.

Perhaps I had it backwards. Red Face What I am certain of, is that the upgraded 110 is not a true 140. The late Julian Vereker explained this to me himself (a few years ago now). Then again, having been so long ago, it's possible that I've got it completely mixed up. Confused

When my 110 came back from the factory after conversion to 140 the label on the back had been changed to 140. So I guess in Naim's view it is a 140 and you should be able to sell it as such.

Clear as mud!!!!

I'd phone Naim. If you give them the serial number they should be able to tell you exactly what's been done to it.

Simple really...It's a 110 thats been upgraded to a 140,so it can be sold as exactly that.
