Nac 92, 90.3 and flatcap

Help needed in setting up newly aquired flatcap to existing 92/90.3 My manuals only mention Hi Cap and I don't have a manual for the Flatcap. What's the correct way to cable up using snaic 4 and Snaic 5 interconnects. Is it just the same as for the hicap or do you use different sockets.
Thanks in advance

go to the Naim website there is a download of all connections available. Should be something in there for you.

Thanks Bob. I downloaded the connections PDF but unfortunately it only covers current product. Do you think it would be the same as the Flatcap 2. I'm really reluctant to experiment just in case of disasters.

After reading through all I could find in my manuals and on the web I decided to connect as per the HICAP. It worked and I'm now enjoying the real improvements brought to the system. I expect it to improve more as the units and cables bed in after being disconnected. I attached the Snaic 4 to the 2nd socket on the Flatcap. Incidentally what are the other 4 pin sockets for.

All the 4-pin DIN outputs on the flat/hi-cap are wired in parallel. They allow you to connect more than one power amp to a single pre-amp.

I assume you mean the socket next to the five pin and not socket two.
I'm unfamiliar with the flat cap but with the hi cap the following configuration works best socket 4 five pin to the pre(obviously) and socket 3 (right beside socket 4..obviously) to the power amp. I think their was a previous posting on hi cap connections so check it out.
The flat cap should keep you smiling for a while.

Thanks for all the replies. I will certainly try the socket next to the 5 pin socket tomorrow to see if that reaps an added benefit.

Hi All. I've been trying out the various sockets on the flatcap and I definately prefer socket 2. Better bass, dynamics and resolution. Also top end not quite so sibilant through the Saras. Yes Saras with a Nap 90. It really works and the overall improvement since incorporating the flatcap is exceptional. The systemhas been up and running now for nearly a day and just keeps getting better. Don't know when the next upgrade will be and whether to go for 180 or 250 or improve the pre. What would you do. Still i'm basking in glorious sounds at the moment. Rock Folk Blues bits of jazz and classical. Pure Joy.

In reality there shouldn't be any difference between the three sockets, and certainly not Better bass and dynamics. You have to bear in mind that these sockets may be used for 135s in which case the out put needs to be the same, which it is.
I think you only think you heard a difference.

I still stand by the difference in the sound heard through different sockets but changing them round a few times has meant that the difference has all but disappeared. I think that the number 2 socket has always been used in the past and the others have never been used and needed a good clean. Does this sound plausible although the music now sounds more together from the 2nd socket but there's not a lot in it.
