Of course, Gary, its absolutely brilliant.

Alex

PS I'll try and listen to it later. . .

John,

Mmm, can't say I even heard the faintest resemblance to either Opeth or Meshuggah, though admittedly the samples were very short...

Sorry, that was deliberately aimed at you! smile

Thought I'd gently yank a limb whilst trying to emphasise the relative heaviness of this album by using the quotes in the sleeve notes to exaggerate. Any actual resemblance to Opeth or Meshuggah....errr....doesn't exist. Thank goodness wink

Pah, dammit, I'm already getting predictable wink

I'll guess I'll have to start talking about ultra-obscure ultra-heavy bands that no one here has even heard of, then.

Of course, me waxing lyrical about, say, Schubert's incredible "Death & The Maiden" string quartet just isn't as fun, as then people would actually start agreeing with me, and we can't have that...

Here's a couple for you to go and research: Discordance Axis and Kataklsym. Now go off and learn big grin.

I've no doubt you'll probably hate both of them though, Nick wink

John.

In Absentia was finally passed on to me this week - it had been hidden away till my birthday frown

Yes its good and well worth the wait (the heavy bits are few and far between and the majority of it are excellent tunes.)

Mrs Seagull gave it her official seal of disapproval - so it must be good, either that or I was playing it too loud wink
