Marty Pellow (with apologies)

Posted by: jayd on 24 October 2003

So, it is with trepidation that I ask our British board members... whatever happened to Marty Pellow? Did he have a fizzled solo career and fade away? Is he a talk show host or something? I searched the web and found links to "Marty Pellow ringtones for your phone" and a bit about "John Finch, UK's best Marty Pellow look- and soundalike".

Just listened to Wet(x3)'s compilation disc, and had forgotten what a nice strong pop voice he had (and no doubt an ego to match).

Anyway, thanks for any info.

I found the blue nose (a Glaswegian thing - don't ask!) here

I suppose I must post (as I am a Glaswegian)....

I agree totally about MP having a phenomenal voice. The break-up of WWW led to me really wanting an MP solo album, but his well-publicised drug (and attitude) problems changed my mind.

Whilst I know the world is full of people who succumb to the infernal powders and potions, I decided to totally ignore his release as I did not fancy funding any more of his "experiences".

Just a view from a parent of young kids..........

Bhoyo, L-T-D:

Thanks for the info. The thing is, he's non-entity in the US; outside of him being "that guy, you know, who was with that band, the one that did the remake of that song, from that movie?" neither his deeds nor misdeeds have been publicized here.

I just thought he was a talented guy, so I figured there were problems somewhere, or we'd have heard something from him.

Thanks for the replies. I 'spect I'd have had more success tracking down info had I been spelling his name properly. Smile

I read some interview somewhere about 2 years ago stating he was releasing an album etc. Not sure if it happened though...

As pure cheesetastic fun, Wetwetwet's first album isn't actually too bad - Temptation is still a fairly decent track even now - barring the long drawn out ending...
