Watchmen

Just got this in Blu-Ray. Watched it twice. Never read the comic book.

If you want to feel the philosophical ambiguity, sexual impulses and violence of the 13 year old male mind, this is the movie for you.

Best comic book movie ever :-)

It is indeed a good film. However at well over three hours one wonders at just how much spare time you have to watch it twice!

watched it on friday and thought it was very average but one mans meat and all that....definately not for the young ones of the family.

loads of inappropriate sex and violence.

Inappropriate? The film is not rated PG so therefore is not for kids.

I meant inappropriate for children, in response to another poster.

Not inappropriate for me, I quite enjoyed it :-)

Well I enjoyed it. It is what it is, not world changing. I admit I had to watch it in two sittings the directors cut is 3 hours 50 mins.

Try watching it with Descriptive Audio (I think it may be John Hurt not sure) turned on, really adds to the Comic Book atmosphere.

Watched it a coupl eof days back on DVD. Average in my opinion. I felt the plot dragged along with no real sense of direction. The cinematography is really top notch though. I don't think it had enough sex or violence to be labeled "too much".

Interesting - the version I saw was only 2 hours 30 minutes or so. I loved it and would like to see the director's cut now...

The director's cut hasn't been released in the UK but the US version is region free. I had to buy it from Amazon.com. I believe there are plans to release yet another version later in the year with the Black Freighter included but that doesn't interest me much as I found it an unnecessary distraction in the book.

Incidentally it's only three hours and six minutes long - a mere tiddler!

Watched it last night when the wife was out. Had no prior knowledge of the story and thought it was very good. Nice and dark when compared to the other super hero films out at the mo.

Will have to look out for the extended version.

Cheers
