My system is Arcam Alpha 8 CD player, Naim Nait2, Epos12. Should I buy CD5 or Nait5 first ?

I will apreciate any suggestion.

Thanks,

Of those options CD5 - no question.

Of course if you were in the UK you could sell the Arcam and the Nait 2, add the CD5 money and get something like used CD3.5, 32.5/Hi/140 for the same cash...

Thanks Steve.
I almost think the same. I will go for CD5.
I am live in Croatia, so those shopping oportunities are off. But, just one thing...
Nait2 have a little power to drive Epos12, so I was thinking maybe to buy Nait5. Are you absolutelly shure that I should have a better sound with CD5/Nait2 than Arcam 8/Nait5?

I've never heard a CD5 but I do have 3 Arcam CD players and a CD3.5. The CD3.5 is a lot better than the Arcams - the 8 is an ok player but it's really playing in a lower league.

If you need power forget the Nait 5 - you'd be far better off with a pre/power. It might be worth checking out the UK shops to see if they'll ship used kit to you - you should be able to get a 72/140 for Nait 5 money.

My nait 5 (second system) drives an old pair of epos 14's suprisingly well (4m by 4m room) at pretty loud levels. Epos 12's are probably even easier to manage.

Ideally epos 14's do like something like a 140, 150 upwards, however the nait 5 has a surprising amount of grunt. It has loads more ability at controlling difficult speakers than any of the older naits.
