Naim DAC vs other DAC

I have a dilemma. I currently have an HDX with 555PS. I've also got a new EMM Labs XDS1 CD/SACD player, which has digital inputs. Do I get the Naim DAC, and keep the "Naim sound," or do I use the DAC in my CD player? If I use the latter, will my 555PS sit & gather dust? My understanding is that it powers the output stages of the HDX, which would be taken over by the DAC in the EMM Labs unit. Any suggestions?

I'd at least try the Naim DAC first as the additional outlay is small overall compared to your current totals and it's rather obvious that you're going for ultimate performancw. You may be surprised to find the HDX more different than better or worse used into the XDS1. This is not just about the XDS1 but also the HDX out. It's always good but not always special into everything. Into the Naim DAC it will be all positive in a very definite and big way.
