Naim in the Israeli press!

Believe or don’t – there is a report in the Israeli press about Naim.
Well, to be more precise it is in one paper and I think that I’m the only person in Israel who reads this paper.
The reporter is Ran Levi, I know him and he is known as a person who has a great knowledge about stereo.
Here is “hi lights” of his report.

The tile of the report combines the name “Naim”, as it should be pronounced in Hebrew with another word so it says “great pleasure” –with a mistake – but it is a nice title.

First he describes the AV1 as a mistake and a failure as a center speaker is a must. He belonging this mistake to JV and says that JV tried to “educate” the world in this attitude but the world “didn’t buy it”.

6 years later, as the home cinema systems are common, the people who are running the company know the importance of the center.
In the HES 2002 show in Frankfurt Naim exposed the first center it manufactures.
“The company that invented the slogan – No Naim no music – exposes a new AV processor, the AV2 that includes the all decoding systems…. But not as common, it is not included input or output of a video path.”
Jason Gold (I hope I right your name in the proper way, Jason, as I translate it from Hebrew) explains that the video path is destroying the quality of the sound. In the future Naim will sell a switching box for video and a SUB WOOFWR! (And I think, Mister Jason, how to hell such a reporter knows more than me and he doesn’t read the Naim forum each day as I do! …). There will also be a cheaper center.
In two year from now (now it is not a quote by Jason) Naim will manufacture a DVD. At the show they used a DVD made by Onkyo.
Now he describes the NAP 150 and the NAP 175 as not “top of the line” products like the speakers.
He didn’t like the demo with Naim speakers as the SL2 are not detailed and sharp as he likes and somehow they are dark at the highs.

All the rest as Naim are doing for years “a fat sound, with rhythm and “awaking” sound that causes your feet to join to what you hear with a great excitement. And there is nothing better than stamping (with feet) to understand that the system that you are listening to is doing something with you.

To be short, he continues and describes the system as a very good with music (not like many other AV systems he knows, most of them are not good with music) and he also liked the affects of the movies with the system.

The reports are with pictures of all the AV components and the center.

A great report for Naim.

Arye, If it wasn't in the 'Post or the Aritz, I guess it must have been the K'far Yona Mercury!

Bob,
It is far better than that.
One of the biggest papers in Israel is the daily paper "MAARIV". This paper sells once a week a
detailed magazine with the schedules for all the TV programs for the next week. This magazine includes many reports and interviews that are connected with entertainment – and Ran Levi writes every week about stereo, AV equipment, TV sets and news that are connected with home electronics.

Among the people who deal with stereo as a hobby,
Ran Levi is known as a knowledgeable person.

Ayre,

An interesting post. I have some Palestinian friends here who are called "Naim", so I guess there is a regional connection. However, I have not yet many any of them who know about Naim equipment! And expecting a review in the press here is unthinkable!
