Snowy veiws from music rooms

Posted by: 555 on 02 February 2008

Does anyone else have a picture of the winter weather from their music room?

I have time for this as I've been chucked out of mine (Mrs. 555 has her chanter lesson Eek), so here's mine ...

Whoops, sorry!

I tried to post this in music room, but have dropped a testiclay.
Maybe padded cell would have been more appropriate Red Face

Adam - could you use your powers of forum movement please?

I'm green with envy - don't get snow since moving down souf. Brings back youthful memories of Pennine winters.

We don't get snow very often at sea level here but here is one from the beach by our place.

All the snow has gone from here. Confused

It's all gone wrong.

Stephen

That's sad; I always put on the Cocteaus' 'Snow' when that happens (to cheer myself up).

Sandy8

WOW!

That is an exquisite view.

Can you see the snow & ice from your room?
Posted on: 02 February 2008 by abbydog
I can see it on my computer screen thanks to your picture. It doesn't snow in Berkshire these days, I'm afraid. I did visit our office in Newcastle 13 days ago, though, and nearly froze to death! But is was snowing, which means I've actually seen a few flakes this winter.

Well a little bit of it ended up here....

Sandy. I hate you so much right now.

I wish that was the view from our living room!
Actually we have to walk about 10 minutes to get to that beach from home.
If we lived on the other side of our building we would pretty much have that view but then we would get no sun.....

555,

I would not worry unduly, it looks rather splendid. You could do with a slightly steeper slope for skiing.

The only snow around where I live, is a bit left on the top of my wife's car when she returned from working at the high point (vertical) of Gateshead. Still bloody freezing though, nice coal fire on all day, but heading into town (Toon) for a meal tonight Big Grin

A cheat...from a couple of years ago...

Was too slow with the camera yesterday morning, snow had melted by the time I read this thread. Sitting by the window waiting for the snows to come again - well, it gives me an excuse to sit in the living room spinning tunes.

also too slow..I think by the time I came out of the shower the snow had all melted..

Woke up this morning, got those self pitying all the snow's melted blues Frown

I can't believe it's all gone; there was a good 5/6cms lying when I went to bed yesterday!

Sandy - does the snow ever melt on that mountain?

Nic - you are right, but the slope is steeper than you'd think from my snap, so it's good for sledging. Hope you had an excellent birthday Smile

Some of the snow remains at the very top of those particular mountains most years. Here is another view from the same place looking right at downtown...

Diccus,

The Grainger Rooms near the Laing Art Gallery. Specialises in English food. Very nice food, wine a bit pricey, worth a go though.

have to take mrs diccus for a treat one lunchtime. We are at the stage of going to anywhere that has a playbarn for the kids so we can get half an hour or mores peace and quiet. Brewster Bear gets some jip and food is ok (at best). Can you recommend anywhere decent and reasonably priced in Newcastle that does a decent Sunday lunch?

Sorry i'm off thread.

Diccus,

Might be easier to take this one off-line. Are talking about somewhere child friendly, and what type of food?

Back to the snow, if it has not all melted!
