Do the Dynavectors work well with a Stageline?

Posted by: Jaybar on 30 August 2003

Hi

I have just ordered a Rega P9? I have also decided on a staageline Phono stage. Questions:

1) Flatcap2 or Highcap (My other gear is non-Naim)

2) Will the stageline drive the DV 17 mk II or DV-xx-2 or DV XL?

3) What stageline type do I need?

4) If the DV's wont work, what other cartridges?

Thanks in advance,

Jay

I run a DV17 mk2 with a S type Stageline and it works very well.

When purchasing the cartridge I contacted Naim for advice and the S type was their recommendation.

One friend ran a test between the S and K types using his Dynavector.. he might care to comment further.

Mike,

yes, thanks for the loan of. It turned out to be very informative.

Although I am using a TeKaitora rather than the 17D2, the K Stageline seemed to make everything disjointed, the music gelled much better with the S.

However, following some tweaks, my LP12 is sounding very good with the K Stageline, and it would be great to re-do the experiment. Once I have everything properly in place, will have to extend the invite to the gang.

cheers, Martin
