Have always looked on a certain auction site , but i could not believe it when a copy of

Led Zeppelins album (one with picture of zeppelin on front} first issue on PLum coloured label on vinyl has just sold for............

£1320...

Could someone explain the "plum label" LZ albums, please? I have early copies of the first four LZ albums, bought at about the time when they were released, and all come with the standard Atlantic multi-coloured label. Could I have bought something else at the time?

one thousand three hundred and twenty pounds.

Hi Graham,I really just about know what i am looking for when i am vinyl hunting.I would love to go to some record fairs and see what is floating about.

I tend to go more for box sets if i can. Not necassarily new ones, some are twenty years old.Dearest box set i bought was the Oasis studio remasters.

£500 is the going rate for the first pressing of the Led Zep elpee (it should have the Superhype credit on it) - Atlantic Red/Maroon label with turquoise sleeve lettering.

If anybody has the copy of Whole Lotta Love/Livin' Lovin' Made with a solid middle and small hole then you might as well chuck it out preferably when I'm passing wherever it is you are chucking it out of - it's not worth anything: honest guv.

100% possitive is did say about the turquoise lettering etc. But £1320 i couldnt justify it. I looked at the other albums the guy was selling and there was some awesome stuff there all first issues in mint condition. So i have a few bids on here and there.

Latest record collector reckons £800 for the Led Zep album so looks like prices on the increase.

Ray...if its the Meddle album you are after then price is quoted at £20 in RC but I guess its worth whatever someone is prepared to pay Smile

On the other hand I was quite surprised when this BBC transcription disc, 1983 print of a 1971 concert went for only £39 on Ebay last month.

Quite wish I had bid on it.

won my Pink floyd Album...collection of great dance songs for £16. As long as the decscription is as good as the LP i will be a happy Bunny.

Wonder what Bill Hailey .Rock around the Clock on 78RPM is worth ?

£6 according to RC. The standard 45 is worth more - £60

It makes me wonder what my Nimbus pressing of "Wish You Were Here" would go for. I've seen similar copies of my Nimbus "Sgt Pepper" go for about £500 on fleabay.

The same seller got £1,020 for a copy of DSOTM the day before selling the Zeppelin.

Nice work if you can get it.

another nice little auction is 250688610098. Rare PT album currently doing good business at £205. I started the bidding but was quickly knocked out the picture.

the seller on ebay has had sme awesome vinyl on there. Would you have sold a collection like that ?
Posted on: 02 September 2010 by ray davis
Actually Munch you were not the only one to do that. I bought a dreaded JVC XLV1 as my first CD player as i remember.

But i am now slowly rebuilding the Vinyl with new additions as well.

I came very close once or twice but hung on to my vinyl. So glad I did. I have the LP12 connected to the Uniti now and it's never sounded better.

By the way, the Nimbus WYWH went for £410 and a Sgt Pepper went for £791.

SWMBO will accept if i am buying a brand new remastered box set for a few hundred quid. But if i told here it was second hand for a few hundred quid. i reckon there would be a brown trail around the house.

Don't worry. I didn't pay silly prices for them myself. I bought them from HiFi Today magazine back in the 80's, cost was about £8 each. I've got "Band on the Run" & "Breakfast in America" on Nimbus as well.

You might see me on "Cash in the Attic" one day Winker

In 1994 i bought Pink Floyd the Division Bell on vinyl from HMV for 8-99. On the run of it had floyd a on side 1 and floyd b on other side. I have hardly played mine .

A copy has just been sold on ebay in mint condition for £175-50.

Today £23 for PT Lazarus CD single on E-Bay.

I overheard at Ben's someone bought an A1/B1 DSOTM and sold it for £150, which was a nice profit.
