Mana Soundbases for NBLs

Posted by: John on 18 June 2003

Is anyone using the soundbases for their NBLs? I have suspended floors and am curious if these with help maximize the performance of my NBLs. I remember reading the height of the speaker is very important with NBLs.

Also are they a special order because of the NBL size or will the SBL size bases work with NBLs?

Any other suggestions on maximizing the NBLs. They are currently sitting on screws that sit above my carpet height.

John:

I spoke with Theresa at Flat Earth Audio about NBL's Speaker Bases. Mana makes a specific base for the NBL and the DBL. They are $1,000 for each pair. I haven't heard them though. There have been several good posts I've seen with DBL's on suspended floors and Speaker Bases. Several reporting that they are a "must have" with suspended floors.

I am also curious on how they sound with NBLs and suspended floors.

Thanks Stallion for your info. I think Arthur's pricing is more accurate at $1,000US which seems quite expensive. For the same money I could add a hicap to my prefix??? XX2/Naimed LP12/Prefix/52Super/135/NBLs. I was hoping the NBLs would fit on the standard soundbases which are I think about $400US.

John:

Sorry, not $1,000 for the NBL Soundbase.

Teresa at FEA can email you a price sheet.

A Sound Base (pair) is $450 USD

SB2 for NBLs is $750

SB3 for DBLs is $850

IIRC the $1,000 was for the Isobarik Soundbase.
