I've recently inherited a stamp collection (mainly French) - very well laid out and documeneted in albums (by my late father) - has anyone any suggestions as to the best place to get it valued?
Without being ripped off if at all possible....

The only sensible thing ever posted on this forum by Mick Parry, was his advice that stamp collections are currently unlikely to have any real monitary value. I found this to be sadly true, so don't spend much on the valuation.
I used Stanley Gibbons in the Strand.

OK Thanks Doc, looks like Stanley Gibbons is the best bet - the collection is numbered with their catalogue numbers so it's probably a good place to start.
