some real gems i picked up from a 2nd hand vinyl shop in copenhagen

1. johannes brahms: the complete sonatas for piano and Violin/Viola, on BIS label. this is a so-called DMM (direct metal mastering) -- not that i care much -- however, i have sampled it now and it sounds very good indeed...

2. mozart piano concertos 23 and 24, daniel barenboim, on EMI, (digitally remastered) -- unfortunately this is heavily warped -- probably didnt pack it properly. however, the aro didnt seem to have any problem tracking it -- thought its nerve wrecking to watch...

3. italian baroque trumpet concerti, on "turnabout" label. lovely stuff...

4. music of india, Raga and Talas, Ravi Shankar and Alla Rakha, on HMV. I have been looking for this for some time -- so didnt mind paying DKK300 for it! My word, is it worth it!!

5. Miriam Makeba, with the Belafonte folk singers, on Camden RCA. i used to have this a long time ago, but it simply disappeared -- i am glad i have found it again. i have it on CD, but have missed the vinyl.

Second hand vinyl shop in Copenhagen? Accord maybe? In the golden days of vinyl, I acquired many fine things from this shop. My last vinyl aquisition, Wilhelm Kempff´s LvB Sonata integral mono was purchased there. This was two months before it was rereleased on CD to commemorate his 100 years birthday in 1994.

You can't much further down than Munch's (Folkestone area).
