Let's have some fun.

This section of the forum can be a bit doom-and-gloom.

Answer the question and then ask another.

I'll start.

Q. What was the name of the B29 Superfortress that dropped the second atomic bomb? Correct spelling please.

They all saw some one shot/killed. JP saw JFK's supposed assassin Lee Harvey Oswald killed by Jack Ruby, YO saw John shot and AC I haven't a clue JFK? Not a Googled answer.

Getting there, getting there. You're right they were all present at famous historical assassinations.

John Peel = LH Oswald
Yoko = John Lennon

but Alistair Cooke anyone?

Jonathan

PS sorry for my slow replies but I just became a Dad for the first time. Happiest man alive but sadly not frequenting web fora that often at the mo' Winker

I think Alistair Cooke either witnessed, or was staying in an adjacent room in the hotel where Bobby Kennedy was killed.

Well done BigH for getting the link right and the first two.....but Bruce wins it for putting in the final piece. Alistair Cooke was waiting in the wings and saw Bobby Kennedy shot.

So the answer was that they all were present when historical figures were assassinated

John Peel = Lee Harvey Oswald
Yoko Ono = John Lennon
Alistair Cooke = Bobby Kennedy

It the Vulcan that bombed Port Stanley.
Posted on: 15 October 2007 by Macker
This particular Vulcan completed the longest bombing mission in the history of aerial warfare, until a B-52 beat it.
Posted on: 15 October 2007 by JamieWednesday
Correctamundo.

Or at least it completed the first mission (Black Buck 1, there were four more). There was a fleet of 15 aircraft involved. 8000 mile round trip from Ascension.

Not only did it stop the Argentine forces operating fast jets out of Stanley, it worried the commanders so much that we might bomb Argentina that they kept almost all their fast jets on the mainland out of range, effectively keeping their Air force out of the war (much like sinking the Belgrano did to the navy).

Can't recommend the book Vulcan 607 highly enough. Excellent stuff.

How did the ancient Egyptian embalmers remove the brains of the dead prior to mumification?
Posted on: 15 October 2007 by JWM
Hook through the nose into the brain cavity, scramle the brains, suck out with a metal straw.
