Carved name plates - making

Posted by: Ancipital on 16 June 2007

Does anyone know anyone that can make name plates out of wood with carved lettering?

I've been trying to find someone that can a) make nameplates and b) carve gothic script.

Otherwise, may have to try and do it myself (last piece of woodworking was in school).

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Steve.

Cheers,

I think I found them previously, not sure why I didn't call them!

Will have to give them a yell to see if they have a specific font I was after (Gothic Austrian font dating from the mid to late 1800's).

If you can find the font independently you could send it to them electronically.I'm sure they use a CNC type router/carver.

Looking at their site, it looks like they're using some kind of computerised sandblaster to do the engraving, wasn't quite what I was after but close enough.

If they're used to dealing with lots of fonts, they should hopefully already have what I'm after - I've sent an e-mail with the details.

Cheers!
