Asyncronous USB to S/PDIF converter

Wavelenght Audio just showed an asyncronous USB to S/PDIF converter at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. This might be a very interesting combination with the Naim DAC for users wanting to connect their PC/MAC via USB to the Naim DAC. I prefer USB over Firewire since with the USB approach one does not depend on drivers written for new operating systems.

As I known(can be wrong) the Wavelength async USB implementation requires custom developed driver and does not support higher than 96k sampling yet.

No and Yes.

The Wavelength Async USB uses standard USB drivers built into operating systems. But it doesn't support greater than 24/96.

I read somewhere that they are working on 24/192 which would be great. I do like the idea of a laptop with SSD playing into the Naim DAC via Wavelengths USB to S/PDIF converter Smile I much prefer USB over Firewire because of the driver issue with Firewire.
