AV2 - Stereo mode sampling rate ?

Posted by: Roy Donaldson on 16 November 2009

Hi there,

I sometimes run my AV2 in Stereo mode, to allow me to use my subwoofer with music. It is fed this via a stereo source on the normal 2 x phono inputs.

Now that I am using some 24bit 96khz original sources, it would be good to know what rates the AV2 is re-sampling at, so that I am not in fact having the 24 bit sources sampled down when using Stereo mode ?

Thanks,
Roy.

From the FAQ:

Digital formats supported by AV2:-

PCM:
32kHz
44.1kHz
48kHz
88.2kHz
96kHz
128kHz

DTS/AC3:
no rates over 48Khz are supported
(96/24 DTS audio will be played back, but not at full bandwidth)

Sorry, not the answer to my question. Those are the samplking rates supported via the Digital Coax/Optical inputs.

The question is via the Analog Stereo inputs, if set to Stereo processing, instead of Direct, what sample rate is used to encode the analog input ?

I remember somewhere that this had changed in the past to fix a Stereo+Sub bug in one of the chips.
