72 140 hi connections (sorry!)

Posted by: Martinm on 02 March 2003

I'm being lent a hi cap by my bro to try for a couple of weeks. He powers his CD with it. We can't find the instructions and the lead he has is a five pin. Do I have to find a 4 pin to connect to my system 72/140?

Cheers

You can download a connection guide from the main Naim site. If you have problems downloading give me your address via Private Topics and I will post you a photocopy

Hmm that has just totally confused me! No pictures of the 72 and the output on the 140 just says pre-amp or power supply?

Anyhow going to run it home and see what i can do with what I've got.

Will be offline till tomorrow night.#

I have a 62/FC/140, but connections should be the same - so from memory I'd say, remove link plug from 5 pin socket. Then, connect 5 pin snaic between 72 and HC, and connect 4 pin snaic between 140 and HC.Power up HC, power up 140.

Oops - sorry!

I do have an OLD setting up guide in the garage somewhere - if the pointers above do not work then let me know etc etc.

Have just got in. Thanks guys will try that!

Mike this is what i keep hearing! i think it will help me decide which route to go in the future - upgrade the deck or the CDP!

next weekend will see some further experimentation with the introduction of the cd3.5 -so I could end up a poor man soon! (still the better half just got an engagement ring so I've got a little room for negotiation at the mo Wink)

Night all and thanks
