Serviced nap 250s

Do or die ???
Well after putting this off, I fin ally succumb and decided to ship my nap 250s for a well overdue service (they were both around the 14yr mark, and never serviced)
Prior to the service the amps, purchase s/h sounded off from the start, but some set-up and other tweaks helped overcome this, until the advent of super capping my snaxo which just seemed to make the whole situation worse.
The system just lacked life, any bottom end firmness or top end sparkle, and overall a very lethargic and dull sound.
Pre service - I'd already cleaned all connections, etc... so the following results were not down to the unplug/plug cleaning.
All other components are new (under 3-4 yrs old)
The state of play . . .
The amps have been running in for nearly a week now, with a couple of days on constant playback. From cold the improvement was apparent much more livelier, detail that was previously masked could now be heard clearly, bass was fairly non-existent though
Some of this was probably down to the whole system being off for a few weeks, the 52 normally takes a good few weeks to settle back down (fully) even after a short power down, it always 'fun' going through a series of worrying/enjoyable peaks and troughs.
So is the jury out ???
Maybe too early to judge, but for me Yes - although the impact is not huge, relatively small really, its that bite/attack, and relentless PRaT that are back and it really does make all the difference, the bass is really coming on, much deeper, but I know as the system settles, the bass will tighten up (giving the 'impression' of less bass).
