Ned Sherrin and Ronnie Hazlehurst dead

Like buses...

Shame, Ned always seemed a fantastic bloke and Ronnie wrote the theme tune to every single comedy programme broadbast by the BBC. Ever. Or so it seemed. (The theme tune to Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em was apparently morse code played on a piccolo spelling out the programme title... - go on whistle it in your head now. See?!)

Very sad indeed - two great characters who were superb entertainers.

Ronnie H was quite superb - everybody knows his tunes and likes them, even if they don'y know he wrote them. I didn't know that about SMDae, but it's clear when now you've said - sheer genius.

Similarly, Ned was behind the scenes at many a great comedy/satire show.

They'll both be missed.

Nothing to say beyond that I shall miss Ned Sherrin on the Radio very much, and that the world will be a musically poorer place without Ronnie Hazelhurst...
