al*** artwork in iTunes

Does anyone know the best way to locate and import album artwork into iTunes, for those albums that the ITunes store doesn't recognise?

Hi Doc,
From the iTunes menu, check 'Preferences' - 'Store'. Do you have 'Automatically download missing album artwork' ticked?
That still doesn't retrieve all album artwork, so multi-select the relevant tracks, right click and 'Get Info' - then drag and drop album covers from Amazon (for example) into the relevant box.
John.

I search on google images for the artwork, right click & copy the image, open Paint, selece Edit then paste, then save it in a file called artwork. In itunes I go to the album, highlight all the tracks, right click and select info. On the next dialogue box I chose the artwork button and press Add. I then locate the new artwork file and open the artwork image and once it is in the itunes field, select it and there it is: artwork added.
I hope this process makes sense.
Kind regards
Brad

I have done this on several occassions; the artwork is happily there on the computer screen, but when downloaded to the iPod vanishes
.
I have tried photos of the cd artwork, no problem, the photo pastes into the iTunes library on the computer, but when I synchronize with the iPod, no picture appears. Can't work out where I am going wrong.
Regards, Graeme

Hi Graeme,
I went through this hassle, so I know how frustrated you will be getting. The thing is that the image you see in the iTunes library needs to be attached to all of the tracks on a album, otherwise the image will not appear when you select them on the iTouch.
When you go into your iTunes library, select the album and then highlight all the tracks. To do this left click first track then press and hold Shift while you left click on last track and all should be highlighted.
With all the tracks highlighted, right click and select the info tab and proceed as above.
This should attach the artwork to all the tracks in the album, and when you sync with your ipod the image should transfer.
Let me know how you get on.

On the left hand side of itunes under the playlists etc should be the album art work or a place holder for such.
Select the entire album and drag a jpg onto the place holder area.
You guys think too much like PCs

You can just click on the name of the album and press ctrl+i and it brings up the relevant window.

select tracks/albums, ctrl i and paste in the artwork box is all that is required.
I find this works with iTunes, iPod touch, 80GB iPod classic and Apple TV.

Well I've successfully pasted in a jpeg of Led Zep I several times. The image displays correctly in the Get Info Dialogue Artwork area, but after I hit OK, the album remains artworkless in iTunes.
No idea what I'm doing wrong...

I did as you suggested, selected all tracks on the album, clicked "Get Info", clicked "Yes" for editing multiple items, dragged the image to "Multi Item Info" - "Artwork" box and hey presto, success. Great!

I save the artwork to the desktop and drag it into the blank space on the iTunes album in question. I found the album has to be open.

Most of the art work for my CDs was obsolete ie Amazon images did not show my CD artwork - I scanned the CD artwork and then dragged it into Music Collector and iTunes for each album. The art work shows up in the iPod as well.

When I got my Touch about a year ago, I went to Amazon.com to get artwork for a number of albums that iTunes did not automatically fill in. I then noticed that these files were unusually large; iTunes retrieved artwork takes up almost no space. I deleted the Amazon.com artwork for about 5 albums and got back several hundred MB of space. Something to consider. I would much rather use the space for music than artwork.
