So it's May 6th. Oh joy!

A scintillating month ahead of us, the lowlights of which will be:
Mr Brown, Mr Darling & Co. trying to convince us that far from an unmitigated disaster, the past fourteen years have in fact been a roaring success and that we should all be grateful.
Mr Cameron, Boy George & Co will seek to convince us that we can reduce a massive deficit, maintain all key services while simultaneously enjoying low taxation.
Clegg, Foggy & Compo will be spending the month avoiding the simple question - "who would you prefer to share power with?".
Meanwhile we will all be bored shitless by the media's pre-occupation with it's own interests and importance. Not to mention the need to fill 24 hour news channels with the most bovine, inane drivel you are ever likely to hear.
A plague on all their houses.
Happy days.

You must learn to be positive. We have had 11 years of a high taxing and high expenditure government. If you like that then fine, vote for Nulab and you should be happy.
If like me, you want low tax linked to savage spending cuts then Dave is your man.
At least you have a choice.
Regards

I'm with you Joe - this election has been done to death already. Can you believe the BBC had a helicopter tracking the PM's journey to Buck House? What did that cost? And who cares?
Can I suggest something a bit radical? All polls should be banned from now on. I can't help feeling that regular polling often leads to a close vote, with floating voters changing their minds on the way the latest results are published.
Without polls, voters might be forced to look a bit more closely at the real issues.
I forecast the lowest turnout in years. Depressing

Dream on Mick. Dave will go nowhere near trimming the massive state, ceasing the index linked final salary pensions of the mandarins they rely on, or anything else that might frighten the horses. Much less sweep away the mindless legislation, over-regulation and nanny state rubbish that is stifling the growth and enterprise that will be needed to pay for this mess.
This is no time for an Etonian wet-neck, much less the insect that is Osborne. A more miserably poor "opposition" is hard to imagine. Cameron is Blair without the talent and yet another lawyer who's answer is to create work for other lawyers - if that doesn't worry you. It should. I've not heard anything from him that doesn't involve "setting up an enquiry". Spineless indecision, government by reaction to focus groups or the Daily Mail. God help us.

It is dead easy, the Treasury cuts all budgets for selected departments by X%.
You then ignore the protests. If the money is cut off, you dont spent it.
Many people will be shattered but it will be a case of tough luck.
Dave knows how to say tough luck

How about a prediction?
Refer back to this on the 7th May...
Tories become the largest party only just short of overall majority, with 'others' they become a minority Parliament but not needing Lib Dems. They offer a cabinet post to a middling grade Lib Dem but not Cable (Osborne is too precious to Cameron). Brown resigns, Milliband (or maybe Alan Johnson) takes over.
Milliband wins the second general election within 18 months as Tories cop the blame for public services being cut.
How about that then!?
Bruce
(I also predict this will be a more 'local' election with swings and turnouts varying quite widely across the country due to issues with local MP's, Independent candidates and tactical voting. I reckon the pollsters will be really struggling to predict the result. Which means I've no chance!)

Don't forget,
Let's go to it, we are all in this together.
Holy cow!

But Mick both you and I have opinions. Dave doesn't seem to have a thought of his own and goes to pieces when he strays off script.

Funny I vote for a better society for all, not for selfishness. I don't like the idea of people dying or living in pain so I can have a shinier second car. Strange that.
Oh and whilst on the topic, my favourite quote about elections comes from Bill Hicks 'No matter who you vote for, the government always gets in.'

It makes me cringe seeing all these plastic suits spewing all their total tosh with their theatrical facial twaddle.
None of them have the brains they were born with.
Politicians wouldn't know what real life is if it came along and smacked them in the face.
I have never voted and never will, they are all the same - full of s**t.
