Neil,

You've asked an excellent question, because I find a noticeable difference in the 'character' of the CD and LP/Tuner when played through my passive 135 system. I find that this character difference is more of a 'sonic' rather than a 'musical' one through. I look forward to hearing the views of people replying to this thread.

Neil,

I wouldn't adjust the naxo unless its already been adjusted before by previous owner. It is very difficult to get both channels to perfectly balanced by ear. I had a real hard time with my snaxo 3-6.

The CDS2 will be technically correct, the LP12 being a mechanical device will naturally be prone to having a character. So tune to the CD and enjoy the reality of the LP12.

I tuned to a tonal compromise (bass was the issue) between the Lp12 and CDS by using a combination of slight adjustment of speaker placement (SBLs) and tweaking the SNAXO bass pot. The problem was that it took overnight to settle down after that tweak to enable evaluation of the effect
