No, there's a sense of irony and self-deprecation that comes with BM ringtones that I can perhaps get (though why/how they can charge real, actual money for them remains incomprehensible).

The concept of Metallica ringtone version of the album seems a serious assault on my sense of all that is right and just in the world. It seems to tear at the very fabric of the space-time continuum (as it relates to real music at least). Words fail me when I try to express my contempt for the marketing geniuses that figured out that this abhorrent concept would in-fact sell. A pox on their ponytails.

Actually, I've found that a Nokia ringtone (forget Sony Ericsson stuff, it's crap) fed via Connekt 8 to Lavry/AP & twin balanced inputs into 552 sounds pretty good. Considering.

Now I see where I've gone wrong Tony. I was streaming my ringtones via Airport Express to my Supernait. It's not surprising that my results lacked the sparkle that your semi-pro set-up would achieve. I really think this is is the way of the future. I just wish Naim would bring out a phone. I feel they are losing lots of sales.

I tried my phone in the Bedini Clarifier this morning. Interesting results to say the least but I think I'll stick with just colouring the screen (of my new phone) with a green texta from now on. I'm also considering replacing the plastic buttons with those special wooden ones. That should broaden the soundstage. I found the third layer of Fraim under the phone to be a bit over the top, however.

With the sound quality of the metallica record its hardly likely you'll notice the difference, its that bad.

In double blind tests the ring tone has audio quality second only to the computer game version.

That's what I've heard, too. The CD is SO bad that the guitar "queero" version (with apologies to messrs Stone and Parker) is the best of the lot.

Fortunately, not my taste is 'zak anyhoo.

I re-iterate - "available in "ringtone"....." F%^&, F$#@, F$%^ !!!!!. My apoplectic rage knows no bounds. Fortunately, I'm currently quasi-calmed by Mr Zimmerman and "Desolation Row" via the SuperNAIT .
