The net & Royd speakers not a good combo?

Posted by: Matt worlock on 12 April 2002

Hi ...maybe you could help me !

I have searched the net hi & low for information ..any information on Royd speakers...to no avail!!!

Google points you towards a dead end site called 'trinity group' where your presented with two options that have nothing to do with Royd speakers at all! exposure & dynavector...cheers then!!!

Any suggestions?

I would like to find out more about these speakers, I want to improve upon my old Epos ES11/12's which I have owned for about 9 years & am finding very difficult to beat!!

I have listened to:

Elac jets
Naim credos, alleas, & sbls.
Mirage om7's & om9's.
Tannoy dimension TD8 & TD10's mmmmm nice!
Pmc floorstanders ( sorry can't remember which ones)

Ok cheers for now Matt

wink

Matt,

Have you ever compared your ES11's with Kans ? I have MkI Kans (and love them to bits) but curious to know how they compare to ES11/ES12/MS12's.

I'm intrigued by that virtually crossover-less design.

Superb with Naim gear.

I bought mine from New Audio Frontiers who knows Joe Ackroyd.

Sadly they don't make them anymore but Derek still has some brand new boxed ones cool

www.planaraudio.com is the Canadian (North American?) Royd distrubutor; they have some info on Royds, but their site seems to be down.

Mike Hanson, what's going on?

Matt,

If you're considering Royds, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't try Neats as well.

I've just talked to Robert Fulton. Apparently the server they were using has developed permanent "technical" problems, and has been down for a while. I think I've convinced him to move the sites over to my host, which is substantially more dependable. Hopefully we can get them up and running in the next week or so.

BTW, in addition to www.planaraudio.com there is also www.roydloudspeakers.com, which will be the "official" Royd site. Both are maintained by Robert Fulton, who's the North American distributor of Royd, and the Canadian distributor of Neat.
