Numbnut asks PC question

When I click on a link the page opens in it's 'restore down' size i.e. not full screen. I can of course 'maximise' it but I would like it to appear already maximised. I have searched the things help section with negative result.
This is probably very basic stuff but it eludes me, please help.
TIA...George.

George,
Basically the browser will remember whatever was last used and closed down. So try maximising the windows....... or all windows if you have more than one open, then close them ALL by clicking on the 'X' in the corner. On opening again they should open as maximised.
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for that but it still doesn't work.
If I click on the link 'Castle Precision Engineering Limited' on this page it refuses to open in it's maximised state no matter what I seem to do. I know it's trivial but I'm certain pages used to open 'maximised'.

I had the same problem and if you're using IE, I would suggest you download this freeware programme
It only takes a minute to download, is ad free, and is a IE New Window Maximizer. I've been using it for a while and it really works!
Good luck.

Thanks - you would have thought Windows XP capable of this menial task without the need for additional software.

Make thepage the size you want and then hold the Ctrl and click the X top RHS to close the window that should "fix" the size if XP don't do it.

The way it works for me (using XP and IE), is open the window, drag the bottom right corner of it (some arrows will appear) to resize the page to maximum window on your screen, then click x to close. Then re try the link and it should be full size... I hope !

Geoff,
That worked for me until I restarted the computer, then back to square one. I now use the software suggested by bluegirl and it's just the ticket.

George.
