A dangerous assumption [smiley]

Here, by way of some redress are some of my highlights:

Sunday

14:00 - Bartok's string quartets (4-6) played by the Belcea QT.

18:30 - Elgar's The Kindom from Oramo and the CBSO. I heard a stunning reading of this much underrated oratorio earlier in the year so this should be quite something.

Wednesday

14:00 - Afternoon performance with the BBC Scottish in a programme that includes Britten's 4 sea interludes and Schumann's first symphony.

Friday

19:30 - Performance on 3. Martyn Brabbins conducts the Philharmonia in a programme that includes Elgar's In the South overture and Walton's violin concerto.

regards, Tam

p.s. Just for Fredrik, the CD review disc of the week, (Saturday at around 12:30) is Clara Haskil playing Beethoven sonatas.

Fredrik has infected a few of us 'classical nappy wearers'(copyright SJB) with the Haskil bug too!

Dear Tam! Oooh Bloody H+++!

Better listen that then..

I am still alive but very tired. New possition at work, newly restored CDS2! Not sure which is more tiring. That bloody player does not seem to realise I need to rest from music. Slept about 12 hours since Tuesday. It was not this fine when new! That of course reflects the set at the time!

Finish at six tomorrow, when I intend to have a drink or several dozen. And the music can wait till Sunday! Or Monday, possibly!

Fredrik! [ who trgically has decided not to wait till tomorrow for the multiple celebrations...] Hehe!
