Problem with phono card in Nait 3

Posted by: mapem on 04 June 2003

Last night I opened my new Nait 3 to install phono cards (NA 522 i think). I was very pleased to be be able to listen to my LPs again, but with the Nait assembled again and hooked up to my turntable I heard nothing but strange hard bumps, alternating from left and right channel. Quickly down with the volume! To my relief, the other input channels still worked fine.

What can be the problem? It was a little tricky to push the cards down and I was afraid breaking them, maybe I was too careful and should push harder to get them in place. Is there any other measure to be taken than just push down the cards?

Did you cut the links?

No, what links? Tell me!

My Nait3 had wire links left and right to the places where the phono stages are attached. These had to be cut in order to get rid of those "helicopter sounds".

If you are not really sure about what you are doing I would advise you to get it done by a qualified dealer.

Best regards,

Oliver

OK, I´ll have another look into the box to see if there is anything I dare to cut!
