Couple of n-vi questions

Posted by: james n on 20 September 2006

Couple of things...

How do you set the clock ? - not got a DAB aerial plugged in yet so can't do the auto update. According to the manual it should be in the setup screen to set it manually ??

CD / DVD volume. General CD listening level is around 24-26 for me. Movies around 40-44. Is there anyway of making the DVD level the same as the CD as i've caught myself out a few times when putting a CD in after watching a Movie ...

Can i plug an external Power amp into the Audio output that would normally go to the unity gain input of a preamp ? I've got a spare 90 and 140 knocking around so wanted to experiment :-)

Cheers for any help.

James,

you can order a special interconnect from your Naim dealer for running a Naim amp off the output for the front L&R channels.

This is the info I have posted today for dealers and distributors:

03-003-0145 (Interconnect Lead, 5 Pin DIN 180o to XLR, 2 Channel) - For connecting NAP250

03-003-0146 (Interconnect Lead, 5 Pin DIN 180o to 4 Pin DIN) - For connecting NAP90, NAP110, NAP140, NAP150, NAP150x, NAP160, NAP180, NAP200

UK price is £35.20 + VAT

Section 8.4 of the manual explains how you set the clock

Richard - thanks for that. I'll have a word with my dealer. I've seen the 8.4 section but cant see the clock option in the main menu.

I'll have another look tonight

Cheers

Ah - just noticed i need to be using Front Panel setup not On Screen to set the clock, which is probably why i dont see the option on the screen....

Thanks again

Cheers

richard,

is it also possible to connect a nap 150x and a napv 175 for using a n-vi instead of an av2 and a dvd5?

thanks a lot,
michael

No - the provision of an output to a stereo amplifier for the front L & R channels is mainly for integration through an existing 2 channel system (preferably using unity gain on an AV input of the preamplifier).
This socket can be used direct to a power amplifier but the n-Vi is primarily intended as a stand-alone unit, with the provision for easy integration to a 2 channel system.
