anyone take a Leak?

I occasionally read posts on here from fans of the "old stuff" (Quad, Rogers, Dyanaco, etc.) but it's rare that anyone mentions Leak.
Is the old Leak stuff just awful, or too "round", or what? I've never heard or even seen any of it here on the West coast of the US; it looks fairly eclectic and fussy, but so is a lot of old hi-fi (like the older Quad stuff) and people still buy and adore it.
Just wondering what's the scoop.

The Leak Troughline tuner has a very good reputation, once serviced and fitted with a good stereo decoder.
Keep meaning to get myself one.

Yeah, Leak stuff rocks. My Pa has a TL III tuner - lived very close to the factory at the time 'twas bought and got on very well with the staff.
The Leak system (ie amp etc) would not suit a Naim fan but it does have a very well mannered sound.
I forget where the factory actually was now, i'll chat with my dad and try get you a picture of the old premises (if they still exist) just for you lot! But since I live in Manchester now this may take some time!

In the late 60s the Leak factory was in NE London not far from the BBCTV centre. I can remember taking a Leak Stereo 30 in for a service
Then they moved up north when they merged or were taken over by Wharfedale
or so my failing memory whispers to me
