Unusual pairing

I was searching through loot the other day and saw a pair of Active Isobariks with Naim Naxo 3-6. Nothing unusual about that you understand but the driving amps were QUAD 303s with a 33 pre!!!!!
A nasty little 303 can just about excrete 20 dodgy watts per channel into a 4 ohm load, so one can only assume that (A) The bariks are not even run in (B) After the system is purchased, three Quad amps appear on e-bay within minutes!....And people say Linn amps don't drive Isobariks.
