She is ex of polyphonic spree and I really like her music on her myspace site. The albume comes out monday and is recieving rave reviews (5/5 sunday times). check out also youtube.

The slaughtered lamb is showing on the website as 'special guest' for wed 5th. It's her plus support - £7.50 from ticketmaster.

My guess is that in three months you will struggle to hear her in such a small venue.

Hi.

I've heard that she's supporting The National on their tour in November. I'm going to their Manchester Academy gig on Nov 4th. Can't wait.

seems to be getting a lot of 'plays' on her myspace. Very interestingly quirky. She was part of Sufjan Stephens touring band and that has rubbed off. I saw the Poly spree a few years ago and they were visually compelling but very samey (IMO).

Definately one to watch out for. Thanks for the heads up.

Picked up the CD yesterday - A really strong and diverse album with some moments of great beauty.

Hints of Bush, Feist, Mitchell and a lovely nod to Holliday on the final track. Highly recommended.

Really? That's good news. I'll be there for that with some fellow fans of the mighty National. They're also supporting Arcade Fire at the MEN a few days before. Should be a very good week.

Thanks for the info about Arcade Fire. I don't really like the MEN arena (too big) but I'll make an exception for The National. I went to their Stoke-On-Trent gig at the Sugarmill earlier this year and it was one the best I've ever seen.

Nothing more than a blatant resurection of a thread in an attempt to revive interest in one of my favourite albums of the year.

Take a punt - she really is that good.

Simon,

Got this on loan from the library because of the buzz in the industry and your comments.

I think it make take a few listens to get a grip on but there seems to be some good stuff here.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Jeff

Give it three listens and I think it will begin to fall into place in a very good way.

At the end of the day its great to hear an artist who is stepping out of the comfort zone and creating original music.
