Isn't it the Aussies fault?

Yes, it's the Aussies' fault, and Multiplex is paying a heavy price for it, deservedly. The CEO and I went to the same school at university (I was one year ahead of him). A decent guy, and no dummy. Still, the Wembley cockup happened under his watch, and he is accountable.

Multiplex is fundamentally sound, and when investors put the Wembly fiasco behind them and regain confidence in the company, its shares will be worth buying IMO.

The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff brought Laing Engineering down. Will Wembley bring the company concerned down perhaps? Stranger things have happened. Somehow the original building of the old Wembley Stadium is all the amazing under these circumstances. The Army were brought in to test the structure by drilled 'jumping' to check for the stability of it all!

My Uni Lectures (reading Civils) were in the Jack Laing Block, excepting Pure Maths, which was in the Jaguar Block, and Computer stuff, somehwere else I can't remember the name of!

All the best from Fredrik

PS: Alchoholic adjournments tended to be in the Whitefriars! We even managed to get some lecturers in there occasionally, and then discussed the crazy angles some of the timber frame had crept to over 500 years, oh and consumed some very fine Ale!

One of the rags (News of the world or Sun??) was claiming the contractors BET on Wembley not being ready in time, so this is why it isn't.

Probably BS, but it cracked me up when I saw the headline...

In this day and age, I'd not be a bit surprised.

The claim is being taken seriously by Multiplex, and they are looking into it. But it's not the reason why Wembley may not be completed in time - there are plenty of other reasons for that!
