Queen The Works

Highly recommended for any serious music fan. The completed boxed set on vinyl. I am thoroughly enjoying rediscovering their early music.
Compared to the current music scene its a revalation, proper music as it used to be.

I've always been a huge Queen Fan, and particularly like their '70's output. Things were a bit more patchy after The Game IMO, though there's still plenty to enjoy.

Yes, but is Queen not a good example of a band that you either love or hate?
Me? I canĀ“t stand them. Love to hate them.
But I can somehow understand why others have a totally opposite view.
And as a Bowie devotee I have to admit that "under pressure" is great. Not because of Bowies partipation but because it simply is a good song.
SO even if I agree with Alan I would like to wish you all Queen fans: Good listening!

Ok, each to his own. I can enjoy pantomine and I can enjoy opera. The difference between us is that I don't get them mixed up

We should have the abilty to enjoy all types of music, with out pouring scorn on others choices as this only emphasizes our own shortcomings, yes I enjoy Queen[ the band not the other lot] occasionally, and my own taste in music is quite eleatic ranging from Afro, through Celtic to Fusion Jazz and Classic.
Mind you I can't stand Garage and rap

Na Oldie, this is a public forum where all that counts is opinion.
I have to tell you this music forum would be dead boring if someone posts about a band and all that happens is people post saying, yes they are good.
A bit of debate is excellent.
Queen are rubbish BTW.

Hi Garyi,
OK,point taken, but then, I hardly think that :- "Queen are rubbish BTW."
conforms either in part or whole to what I remember as the Oxford rules of debate
a very selectively hearing:- oldie.

I've said before there is precious little reason given for X,Y or Z is/are rubbish.
Surely the statement should be "I don't like them" not they are crap sound polution or even pantomime (oh how I larfed).
The only common point for them being "rubbish" is that they might be populist or is that popular? The formula seems to be the greatness is in inverse proportion to their popularity.
Bathing in the glow of music no one else has heard of there fore it can't be rubbish. As soon as a few 10s of 1000s latch on it will be crap then.
