Muddy water: literally in my room

Not Muddy Waters but muddy water. Water came through wall and onto the carpet staining it brown. Have cleaned up a bit with soapy water and now drying with newspapers.
Thank goodness I was in and unplugged hi-fi etc which is situated 2-3 feet from the damp patch. when I heard thunder (power surge possibility).
