Just noticed in the TV schedule that there's a documentary on Gram Parsons this Friday 5/3 @ 10.00PM on BBC4.
Might be worth watching?

Jack,
Sorry old chap, didn't see your post. I think every Friday BBC4 has something of interest.
Last Friday showed Johnny Cash on some old Later... shows. This followed the excellent JC documentary on BBC1; not wishing to Preach

Denis,
I know they were doing some profiles some time ago e.g. Nick Drake but hadn't realised it was regular thing. Cheers I'll keep my eyes open.

Just finished watching the prog, which I recorded.
What a fascinating life and death. An innovative music maker of modern times who introduced 'country rock' before the Eagles.
Dead at 26 from narcotic self abuse. Very sad.

Yeah, but don't you hate it when you've liked someones music for years, then you find out they were a spoilt little rich kid who treated most of their pre-fame associates like shite and would've got nowhere had it not been for mummy and daddy's $55k a year allowance.
I know its the music that counts but I didn't take to the man at all. The Rolling Stones basically telling him to leave them alone and go and write some music of his own as he was wasting his talent was interesting. I mean... the Stones in the 60s behaving like responsible parents to Gram surely said a lot.
